3 weird niches
for years now i've preached "boring niches"
aka using tried and true niches like concrete & tree service to build your website rental business
why?
because it removes one of the variables.
with tried & true niches you already know businesses buy leads in those niches, now you just need to find the right city.
prior to making my first 7 figures in 2020 renting simple websites i followed the cliche advice:
"the riches are in the niches"
i was looking for the magic bullet
searching for that golden industry that no one had thought of.
one that i would then keep secret & make millions in
after building over 20 websites in niches like landscaping, towing, carpet cleaning etc
i was a jack of all trades, master of none.
i only had 1 of my 20 sites rented out.
as i switched my focus to boring (tried & true) niches, i was able to become fanatical about picking the perfect city
and this formula allowed me to make hundreds of thousands of dollars
its still the advice i give my students
focus on tried & true niches in "obscure cities" that no one else is paying attention to
THE INTERVIEW THAT OPENED MY EYES
recently i interviewed a student of mine doing $15K/month
for context, he's been a part of my Digital Landlords community for a little less than 2 years.
interestingly, he comes from an e-commerce background.
in fact he's made over $1M in e-commerce & also created & sold his own course.
naturally i was intrigued as to why he made the jump to rank & rent.
for time sake, i'll save those details for another day (or if you are in my digital landlords community you can find the interview there)
however, as we started talking about niches, he entirely opened up my mind with some of the niches he's making money in:
-mobile bar rental
-tent rental
-mechanical bull rental
the majority of these he is making over $1K/month renting out the sites
the best part?
since these niches are "obscure" and not highly talked about, he is able to go into massive cities and rank in a few short months because his competition is so weak.
WHAT THIS MEANS
the more the interview went on, the more excited i got.
my brain started firing on all cylinders
it reaffirmed what i already knew to be true
the rank & rent business is far from saturated. in fact calling it saturated to any degree is laughable
there are 4.7 million new business started each year in the US alone according to the commerce institute
not to mention all the new industries that are created each year as life and the world changes.
to give you an idea, i've made 95% of all my millions in less than 10 niches. and majority of that came in about 5 of those specifically.
there's never been a better time to get into the digital real estate business & start building assets.
YOUR CHALLENGE
feel free to join me in a simple daily habit that i've recently implemented
open up a note on your phone & write 1 new niche idea every single day.
make sure the niches is:
phone driven
non- branded
don't worry if it isn't the perfect niche or if you don't see how it could actually make money
just write.
one new niche idea, every single day.
not only is this going to give you 30 new niche ideas every single month
more importantly its going to train your brain to see how much opportunity is out there.
i can assure you that after doing this for just a month, you will begin to see that the possibilities are endless
and you'll think twice before you ever again ask "if rank & rent saturated"
remember, as always, life is short, so lets go buy time
